The Rosendale Historical Society was founded in 2000. Just one year later we were given a building at 105 South Main Street (Highway 26) to use for our museum and headquarters.

The building had to be gutted and remodelled, all of which was completed with volunteer labor. Our building now houses several collections and is the location where we hold many of our meetings.

As a fund raising effort,we have had a Rosendale alumni who has painted a Christmas tree ornament for the last four years, with a scene containing a Rosendale historical landmark: (2001): Rosendale Grade School, (2002): Rosendale Union Free High School, (2003): Peaced Lutheran Church, and (2004): Rosendale United Church of Christ (1853).
